Our guide, Naaman, was simply extraordinary: cheerful, attentive, patient and very professional. He took great care of us and made the trip feel like traveling with a friend, someone who shares his country with you with pride and affection. We returned with a full heart and the certainty that Africa is the best place in the world.
About Us
Tanzania Simplified Safaris
Tanzania Simplified Safaris was founded in Arusha, Tanzania in 2023 with a clear and ambitious vision: to deliver high-quality, sustainable safari experiences rooted in authenticity and care.
Proudly family-owned and operated, the company has remained intentionally small, allowing us to build a close-knit team shaped by long-term mentorship, internal growth, and a deep understanding of our values.
The values were instilled in us by our founder and director, Naaman Kissila. He has been present in the safari industry for more than 8 years and has used the knowledge he has gained to grow and nurture Tanzania Simplified Safaris into what it is today.
He is an active naturalist and bird lover who loves to share his passion and knowledge with the guides and guests. Naaman is also a firm believer in sustaining the environment that has already given so much to him, reinforcing the mission to protect Tanzania's natural environment in every member of the company, from office to safari vehicles.
Naaman started with walking safaris at the age of 18 years old as a passion during his school holidays, and as soon as he was able to drive, he was taking guests into the iconic national parks.
The name Tanzania Simplified Safaris reflects this philosophy. For us, it represents the extraordinary natural inheritance of Tanzania's national parks - landscapes and wildlife we view not simply as attractions, but as a blessing and responsibility.
This belief underpins everything we do, from the way we operate internally to the way we design each safari.
This family-centred philosophy extends directly to our safaris. Every journey is carefully tailored to the needs of each group. Our itineraries are designed at a relaxed, well-paced rhythm, allowing both adults and children to fully engage with the landscape, wildlife, and culture without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
By creating space for curiosity, comfort, and connection, we ensure that every guest, regardless of age, enjoys a meaningful and memorable safari experience.
One of my favorite memories is with Philippe. We jokingly called each other "Dagga Boys", a nickname inspired by the old buffalo bulls, known as the retired officers of the bush. It became our inside joke and a reminder that some safari guests become lifelong friends.
Guest Testimonials
The first day of the safari we met Naaman at our hotel in Arusha (Gran Melia). Naaman, what a guy! He made our whole safari experience the best it could have been with his vast knowledge, his friendliness and warmth. We could not have asked for a better guide, we have definitely made a friend in Naaman.
We went on our honeymoon to Tanzania with Naaman as our guide and I can honestly say it made the trip even more special than it already was. The service provided throughout was first class and I cannot recommend them enough. Our guide Naaman was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond.
The real standout of our trip was our guide, Naaman. His knowledge of the wildlife was unbelievable, and thanks to his patience and sharp eye, we were able to see the Big Five up close. He did not just point things out - he taught us so much about the animals, their behavior, and the ecosystem around us as well as making sure we had plenty of "National Geographic moments". He even made learning Swahili fun for the kids. By the end of the trip, it honestly felt like he had become part of our family.
