The park is well known for elephants, large baboon troops, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and hippos. Lions are present and are sometimes seen resting in trees, although sightings are not guaranteed, so Manyara is best planned as a scenic wildlife stop rather than a big-cat-focused destination.
